Our Work

Wild CER in Action

Society for Wildlife Conservation, Education and Research (Wild-CER) is involved in the Education and awareness programs related to conservation issues. We are involved in conducting the darting training programs for veterinarians. The training includes the principles of chemical restraining, protocol of rescue and management of the rescued animals.

Critical rescues require the immobilization of the animal. We organize the chemical restraining programs for forest department personnel in order to train them for the field conditions during the rescue operations.

Research team and the team of expert wildlife veterinarians are focused on studying the diseases of the wild animals with special emphasis on parasitic diseases. Wild-CER team members have presented their work through talks at national and international level. Wild-CER also try to reach the common man through our workshops. Recently we organized a “Man-Animal conflict – Challenges ahead” workshop where we tried to communicate the conflict issues to the people.

Wild-CER is committed to the conservation and educating the young generation is one of its many targets. Involving and creating young generation in wildlife conservation is a must do approach for increasing their active participation in any wildlife conservation movement. We organize bird watching camps and nature trails for the students so that they can realize the importance of the issue. We also collaborate with Maharashtra State Forest Department in order to motivate the field staff.

Wild-CER is involved!

Research Publications

We also do path breaking research which is needed to understand the various issues plaguing wildlife in India, having published over 30 papers in journals in India and abroad. For eg: Our paper on the occurrence of Babesiosis in leopard was very well received and helped in understanding issues found in wild animal health.
